Coming Home

We live in a village just on the outskirt of a big city. The city ends, the street lights stop and a field is all we have before a road sign announced our village. On some evenings, returning home from the school run, I might see the full moon, low in the sky, a windmill in the foreground.  A left turn and you are greeted with a row of Conker trees. I always feel a gladness when I see these signs of the village.

Do you remember this photo of the village ? This is actually the view when we leave the village. Can we expect more cold weather this year ?

The temperature has plumetted in the last few days. I hear they are expecting the worst winter in 10 years. What do you think ? I thought that weekend in February half term this year was bad. The car displayed -10 C one morning.

I am sharing this story with Sian on Storytelling Sunday.  You can find more wonderful stories here. This layout was made for Scrap365, Sparkle gallery.

Because I know the area in which you live I can so easily imagine how beautiful it must be as you leave the lights of the city behind and cross the boundary into the villages. Such a beautiful place to live and your photo shows just how lovely it is when dressed in snow and frost.

A beautiful photo - our countryside is full of these most beautiful hidden gems - that mean home to many. Thanks for sharing your story.

This is beautiful Ifa! The words, the picture, the layout. Thank you for sharing it with us today - and that warning about the weather is timely for us. I'll be telling that boy of mine to bring a hat! (emailing you in a minute)

Oh pretty photo and word picture too. I've been listening to the severe weather warnings and wondering what this winter will have in store. Definitely feels different in the city or countryside.

What a beautiful page, Ifa - and I loved the details of your coming home. I am alarmed to hear about the possible winter because up here we get it worse than anywhere else! The year before last was bad enough ... Off to read the Met Office website but not before I say again what a super page this is ...
