Storytelling Sunday - Traveller's tale Part Deux

You might remember my airport and immigration concerns from a previous story. Ok, so I made it to New York and back, but something happened. Yes it did!

When my boarding card was scanned, the scanner beeped. "Can you wait over here ?". What's wrong now ? What was going on in my head ? They are overbooked, they are going to bump us off. Some cheeky sod has reported us for drug smuggling. Do I look like a terrorist ? Then A's card beeped and I was slightly relieved...at least I don't have to go through this alone.

After what felt like an age (but probably just a couple of minutes), "Can I have your boarding cards ? Here are you new ones. You've been upgraded." OMG! What a relief. Due to my phobia of being singled out at the airport, how we were told we were upgraded was a little uncomfortable and scary.

The photo was taken from our departure gate at Newark airport, as we wait for our seats to be called. The glass window was very dirty so it was not a great photo but you can see New York skyline against the rising sun.

I have used AC Amy Tangerine's for this layout plus some white Thickers that I coloured with a marker pluse 3 Studio Calico asterisk wood veneer that I coloured with embossing powder. And, hurray, I am delighted I managed to include our boarding cards. With online checking, we don't get those very often anymore.

Those sorts of things can be really nerve wracking - yours ended well, as of course it would!

Thanks for the classes you taught yesterday. Although I changed your second Lo, I did have a great time and I've got some great ideas for future projects from it.
P.S. I didn't realise Sian was on the DT for the magazine they gave out.

Isn't it funny how your mind automatically expects the worse? What a lovely (and great) relief to be told you were going to be upgraded rather than marched off somewhere for interrogation!

Oh I would have been so worried and expected the worst too, why are we like that? Great story and LO.

Gosh, that was a heartstopping moment! (like something from that "Border Control" show - have you ever seen it?) but an upgrade was a lovely treat! Your layout is beautiful - I think I need some of that Amy Tangerine, you have showcased it so well :)

Thanks Ifa

Love the way you put this LO together. Fiona x

I don't blame you for being worried. These days, with all manner of airport security, any tiny blip in the norm is scary. So glad it turned out to be something terrific rather than something not so.

It's a scary moment when you are singled out. Even when you haven't done anything at all, you still feel guilty! Love the layout and photograph. Irene
